Dashboard

The home screen everyone lands on after signing in — a personal snapshot for employees, plus a company-wide snapshot for HR and management.

Overview

The Dashboard is the first thing anyone sees when they open Workyla HRM. For a regular employee it's a personal command centre — leave balances, this month's attendance, a quick check-in/check-out, announcements, and performance, all in one place. For HR Admins and Managers it adds a company-wide view on top: how many people are active, who is present today, who is on leave, and pending requests waiting on approval.

It exists so nobody has to hunt through separate screens just to answer “how am I doing this month” or “what needs my attention today.”

Who uses it

  • HR Admins: See organization-wide counts (active employees, present today, on leave today, pending leave requests), a live “checked in today” table for the whole company, and their own personal snapshot below it.
  • Managers: See the same organization-wide metrics and checked-in list as HR Admins, plus their own personal snapshot.
  • Employees: See only their own snapshot — leave balances, today's attendance with quick check-in/out, upcoming holidays and birthdays, unread announcements, and their monthly performance.

What you can do here

  • Check in and check out for the day directly from the dashboard, with a live clock and today's check-in/check-out times shown.
  • See total remaining leave days for the year, plus a breakdown of allotted, used, and remaining days for each leave type, with a shortcut to apply for leave.
  • View this month's attendance summary: days present, late, half-days, absences, days on approved leave, and average hours worked.
  • See upcoming company holidays (confirmed or tentative) and how many days away they are.
  • See upcoming birthdays for the current month among coworkers.
  • Read unread company announcements, with a shortcut to view all of them, and see how many are still unread.
  • See a personal performance card for the current month, and a short “top performers” list for the month.

HR Admins and Managers only

  • See four organization-level counters: active employees, present today, on leave today, and pending leave requests awaiting approval.
  • Browse a paginated, live table of everyone who has checked in today, with employee ID, name, check-in time, and status (present/late).
  • See a compact increments card showing increments processed this month, pending approvals, upcoming increment cycles, and the average increment percentage so far this year — shown to anyone with increment reporting or increment-creation rights, linking through to the fuller Increments area.

Step-by-step: Checking in and reviewing your day

  1. 1Open the Dashboard after signing in.
  2. 2In the “Today's attendance” card, press Check in when you start work; the card immediately shows your check-in time and marks your status.
  3. 3Scroll down to see your leave balances and this month's attendance summary update automatically as the day progresses.
  4. 4Check the announcements and upcoming holidays/birthdays cards for anything you should know about.
  5. 5At the end of the day, return to the Dashboard and press Check out.

How it connects to other modules

  • The “Apply for leave” shortcut takes you straight into Leave Management, and any leave you take shows up here as “on approved leave” days and updated balances.
  • Check-in and check-out here are the same record used by Attendance's monthly history and reports.
  • Unread announcements shown here come from Announcements and are marked read once opened.
  • Upcoming holidays shown here come from the company holiday calendar in Holidays.
  • The performance card mirrors what's tracked in Performance for the same month.
  • The Increments card links directly into Salary & Payroll > Increments for anyone who can see reports or create increments.

Good to know

  • Employees only ever see their own numbers here — the organization-wide counters and the “checked in today” table are visible only to people who can view organization-wide data (by default HR Admins and Managers).
  • The “checked in today” list only counts people whose check-in falls on their own effective work day, so it correctly handles employees on different shift schedules and time zones.
